The Beekeeper Film Synopsis:
The moving story of a beekeeper’s fate. He lost everything in the turmoil of the Turkish-Kurdish war: his wife, his children, his homeland, over 500 colonies of bees, and with it, his livelihood. The only thing remaining is his love of bees and an unwavering trust in the individual human spirit, regardless of origin. Following a long odyssey fraught with deprivation, the beekeeper finds his way back to his passion in Switzerland.
Director Mano Khalil Biography:
Mano Khalil is a Kurdish-Swiss filmmaker, he lives and works in Switzerland. In 1981-1986, he studied history and law at Damascus University in Syria. From 1987-1994 he studied fiction film direction in former Czechoslovakia. Khalil has worked as an independent film director for Czechoslovakian and later for Slovakian Television. Since 1996, he lives in Switzerland, working as a director and producer. In 2012, he founded Frame film production in Bern.
