Holy Bread is the last film made by the dedicated Kurdish Director, Rahim Zabihi, before his tragic death.
A must-watch documentary, Holy Bread is about the hard life of the Kolbars who turn to smuggle goods across the borders of Kurdistan in order to support their families. They are forced to hike arduous mountains putting their lives on the line. The father of a household may be swept to his death by an avalanche, or hit by a soldier’s bullets.

Rahim Zabihi was born in 1972 in South Kurdistan. He had 20 years of director and screenwriting experience within the performing arts. Zabihi’s filmography includes having directed 17 short, feature, and documentary films, and received various awards worldwide. Rahim Zabihi was tragically killed at 47 years old.
